doing anything with the goofy trading cards?

I read it had something to do with money spent on Steam - but that cannot be true. I have spent an irresponsible amount of $ the past year on nonsense on the community market, lol.

Do I just need to buy more shitty games or something?

Just trying to unlock more functionality in my steam profile and apparently the level is the only way to do it... which I find ridiculous.

Yeah, last night I ultimately gave in and just bought a bunch of these trading cards for my games... went from level 5 to 20 so I now have access to everything I wanted (showcases mostly).

That's a really shitty concept. I spent a bit over 20 dollars on trading card duplicates just to have more profile customization.

Yeah - instant gratification people probably comprise most of the buyers on the community market.

You unlock the option to feature some of your favorite items in your Steam inventory (something not really interesting for Quake Live since it doesn't have custom weapons/cosmetics).

I also added a featured screenshot section.

Nothing major - just subtle touches that I wanted to have available when I saw a few other Steam peeps with them in their profiles.

After tonight's issues with steam do I need to explain why steam is worthless. All I would like to do is play a simple game... Now I have to open steam then open the game. If steam is updating/maintenance then the game is worthless. Why can't we cut out the middle man! Sounds more efficient right? Also steam needs to run the updates/maintenance at off hours around 3am not 8pm!! OK enough ranting!
